Five Weeks In — And There’s Still Time to Join Us
We’re halfway through our 2025 three-month bamboo building program at Belega Bamboo Village Eco-School, and what we’ve built so far has been very satisfying … From furniture and ladders, harvesting and treating, designing and laying the foundation for our Roundhouse 2026 build.
Over the past five weeks, we’ve been working on something ambitious — A design with Balinese-style curves fused with a roundhouse hyperboloid base design, and the results are quite interesting!!
For this program we’re joined by Jaye Irving — an architect from Australia and Canada who has been working with bamboo for over 25 years, building all over the world. Together we’ve completed the hyperboloid base and foundation, and we’re now moving into the most exciting phase: building the main structure of the next iteration of the roundhouse design.
Now we’re opening a second intake…. for just the carpentry and joinery component of the design.

We’re timing the new intake to begin after Galungan — It feels like the right moment to welcome new people into the build.
What’s Available:
The remaining five weeks run from 29 June to 31 July 2025. You’ll be joining the team for the most exciting phase — where everything comes together and the structure takes form.
Course fee: AUD $3,413 (approx. USD $2,400) — includes all course materials and lunch every day
Optional homestay accommodation: AUD $700 for the five weeks
No prior bamboo experience needed — just curiosity and willingness to work with your hands
