Welcoming seasoned Ecoleaders, nomads, and all friends searching for meaningful ways to contribute towards the greater good in our lives and to tap our creativity… and letting it dawn on us that we are already Here – living our purpose: Whatever the calling may be for you, we hope to include you in the array of ways we are able to interact with the broader community locally and globally. We started this eco-friendly urban Bamboo Sky-Shack building project in 2017 as a social inclusion project with local craftsmen and international helpers who want to help in a community context towards people with disabilities being included to have a better life – and also learn about natural building with bamboo. This house was made for Freyr my daughter who has Rubenstein-Taybi Syndrome and we lived here for 7 years. I sold my mobile home/bus during Covid and started my PMA (Indonesian company) to be able to offer workshops and share about traditional bamboo craftsmanship in 2020.
Freyr is now living back in Australia as her school program here finished when she turned 21 and I was really lucky to have one of our beautiful volunteers offer to bring Freyr back to Australia and support her to get her Disability Funding (which she wasn’t eligible to access outside Australia).
I am now working to establish projects where people with disabilities can be included and where I can spend time with my daughter in a supported manner IN-COMMUNITY with local families, and where people can come to learn about traditional culture and village life in Indonesia – to raise awareness and develop strategies for environmental responsibility and circular economies which can enhance the health and livelihoods of local people and enable access to skills and techniques to make bamboo a more attractive and affordable building material.

We love to meet people seeking to form their own kind of Eco-communities and share ideas, inspiration and knowledge. We encourage visitors to actively become part of the solution to alleviating global problems through understanding them from a local perspective… the biggest being TRASH.
We aspire to be a Zero Waste household by actively demonstrating responsible disposal of plastic for use as a construction material for our bamboo project and separation of other trash. We aim to also assist our local neighborhood to become zero-waste over time and address local problems directly. We offer activities to make fun ways for locals and travelers to meet and share culture and experience to bring “village live” back into urban areas.
We want to share in and teach as many skills, adventures, experiments and new learnings with as many friends as possible! Our space is an inclusive one and we invite guests to participate in our daily workshops or can tailor a more specific program/learning experience on request…
